  • 3 tbspvegetable or olive oil
  • 2 tspsmoked paprika
  • 1 tspgarlic granules
  • 1 tsponion granules
  • 1 tspfine salt, divided
  • 1/2 tspblack pepper
  • 1 tbspcornflour

Method

    Heat the oven to 210°C fan and

    Heat the oven to 210°C fan and put the empty baking tray inside. Cut each potato lengthways into 8 even wedges.

    Put the wedges

    Put the wedges in a saucepan, cover with cold water and add 1/2 tsp salt. Bring to the boil and simmer for 4 minutes. Drain and steam dry for 5 minutes.

    Mix paprika

    3 min

    Mix paprika, garlic, onion, remaining salt, pepper and cornflour in a large bowl. Add the wedges and oil and toss until evenly coated.

    Spread on the hot tray

    22 min

    Spread on the hot tray in one layer with a cut side down. Bake for 20 minutes, turn onto the other cut side and bake for another 18-25 minutes until crisp and tender.

    Serve immediately

    Serve immediately. If holding briefly, leave uncovered in a low oven so steam does not soften them.
